Bird control
Our company carries out bird control on many structures: public houses, private houses, churches, monuments, chapels, bell towers, buildings, industrial and civil warehouses, roofs, gutters, cornices, terraces, town halls, schools, etc...
Pigeon droppings damage structures, since along with rain water it corrodes gutters, vaults, windowsills, etc. and especially in areas where organic substance penetrates, such as roofs, walls, etc. large quantities of pathogenic agents and parasites can be found.
Pigeon droppings contamination causes very harmful diseases, such as salmonella and the less known Lyme Deseasela, caused by argaside tick bites and by parasites in birds, in particular in pigeons

The first step is an accurate inspection that allows to assess the number of birds and the extent of the infestation.
Then the area is delimited by means of warning signs and tape and droppings are removed very cautiously in order to prevent diseases and harmful parasites from spreading in the area.
The next step is the disinfestation treatment aimed to eliminate any tick infestation followed by a sanitary disinfection treatment which eliminates microbial loads.
Droppings are collected and packed in bags that are then sealed in order to prevent parasites from spreading. 
The collected material is then disposed of in compliance with the current regulations by means of trucks for the transport of dangerous goods.
After the collection and the disposal, we perform one more bird control treatment in order to remove tick residues and one more disinfection treatment with solutions of ammonium quaternary salts in order to eliminate the residual bacterial load.

The definitive bird control plan can now be defined and can be performed by means of the following methods.

Shock tracks
 

Shock tracks are composed by a CE certified power unit which generates and delivers variable voltage from 4.000 to 5.000 Volt with low amperage electricity in order not to harm the birds.
The power unit is connected with two stainless steel rods(3 mm in diameter and 1,5 mt in length). 
These rods have threaded ends and are fixed on brackets. The brackets are made of dielectric polycarbonate with UV protection and are fixed using stainless steel plugs and screws, rivets, silicone or other specific adhesive depending on the type of surface.
The power unit regulates the line voltage automatically, depending on weather conditions and on the dimensions of the tracks.

     

Bird spikes
 

Bird spikes are made of stainless steel and polycarbonate. They can be placed along: cornices, gutters, canopies. They prevent birds from perching. They consist of pins with blunt tips.
The bird barrier is chosen depending on the kind of surface, the depth of cracks or the ease of installation. The types of spikes are thus available with different height, length, number of rods and material: stainless steel spikes are used in particular conditions, such as heat sources, solvent pollution, etc.
They are usually fixed by means of silicone glue, self-tapping screws, rivets and/or plugs. For this reason dirt and dust should be removed accurately from the surface.

     

Birdwire
  Another bird barrier is the bird wire. It is preferably to be used for the protection of monuments or precious structures because it is the least visible. It is thus suitable for windowsills, beams and pipes.
The working principle is simple: elasticity, which makes the mounting surface unstable. When the bird perches on the cornice/windowsill the spring wire will create a sensation of instability and will force the bird to escape.
Bird Wire is a fine nylon coated, spring tensioned stainless steel wire that moves under every strain.
     

Bird netting
 

Bird netting is used to protect structures from pigeons, gulls, starlings and sparrows. They are little visible barriers and are used to prevent birds from reaching recesses, chimneys, windows, roofs and yards. The net is attached by means of a voltage cable. This method can be used on any infested area and it allows to save money on cleaning and maintenance.
The nets are available in different colours and they are made of UV protected polyethylene. The woven wire configuration ensures outstanding tensile strength.
Also galvanized steel, copper and stainless steel nets are used. They are particularly suitable for the protection of chimneys, small recesses, etc.
